Painting by Sally Rosenbaum and Myra 'the week' . . .

What a beautiful painting by Sally Rosenbaum. Like many other artists she is truly as they say 'one of the hardest working people in the business'. Her paintings really tell a story. I would call her a modern day Cassatt with her 'women reading' series. Also, this was a pretty good week for me. I truly enjoyed discovering watercolor board and experimenting with watercolor and pastel. I received wonderful encouragement and enlightenment this week - especially from PM and MP (who turns out to also live in Texas). Now, I won't lie to you . . . I wish that I had done this painting by Sally Rosenbaum. Well, I always have a goal for the Spring and Summer. I was surprised by the sense of joy and satisfaction I felt in using pastel and watercolor. This summer my goal is to teach myself more about these mediums. I want to do beautiful paintings that tell a story. And, I want to follow MP's advice who said 'don't be afraid to 'attack the canvas' with bold, beautiful, color'. And I will . . . right after my prune juice vodka-tini and a nap . . . see you next week . .
